Grooming operations will be adjusted on a daily basis to accommodate the safety of our groomer operators, so riders should expect varying conditions on the trails.
Trail Closure Updates:
Grooming operations for the remainder of the season have ended. Trails are open through March 31, 2022 when gates on trails crossing private property will be locked.
Riding after March 31st is only allowed on trails on state-owned land. Within the KSC trail system that includes Trail 17 from Calumet to Hancock and Trail 3 from Houghton to Toivola. Ride at your own risk as trails will not be maintained.

- Sections of the trail system will again be closed due to extensive damage from the June 2018 flood. The closed trails are: the South Freda (120) and North Freda (121) Trails and Trail 3 from Dollar Bay to Lake Linden. The trail from Hancock to Dollar Bay will be open and the trail to Lake Linden from Calumet will be open, so both of these towns will be accessible via snowmobile.
- Logging may be present on other trails. LOGGING TRUCKS DO HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY, so please obey signs in the area, allow trucks to pass through and then proceed down the trail.
Please stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, drive safely. The signs on the trails are there for rider’s safety, so please
DO NOT remove or destroy them.
